Sources have sent us detailed reports on the latest beta builds of Tiger (8A26X series) and provided us information and screenshots on Apple?s new Graphing Calculator, Preview annotations, Polytonic Greek support and some new settings added to some System Preferences? panes.
The most important new feature reported by sources is Apple?s new application called ?Graphing Calculator?. It allows you to draw math graphics and see them in 2D or 3D view modes and it is very simple to use. Apple has also enhanced the current Calculator application with more settings and a new "Programmer mode".
Another interesting feature for some is the capability to add annotations in documents viewed with Preview. You have the choice between standard ?post-it? style text annotations or red ovals to highlight an important piece of information in a document.
Greek users will be happy to see that Tiger now has a new Greek Polytonic Unicode keyboard. It was a long awaited feature in the Greek speaking Mac community and it?s now one of the new features of Tiger.
Finally, in the System Preferences, some new settings have appeared. The Energy Saver pane has now more options, the Startup pane makes Target Mode more accessible and the Keyboard and Mouse pane adds the option to choose if we want right or left mouse button to be set as primary. This last new option is probably intended to be used by the left-handed users.
More postings about Tiger are coming so don?t hesitate to submit your questions or comments here.
