As announced earlier this week, Cobb County School District has published details on the 63 000 laptops deal between Apple and Georgia's schools on its web site.
We learn that each laptop will be leased for $271.26/year for four years. With other training and support costs the total cost per student is about $350 a year. Each laptop comes with Microsoft Office, iLife, a second battery and 4 year warranty.
Apple has made similar deals in the past: 36 000 laptops in Maine, 25 000 laptops in Henrico County (Virginia) and smaller contracts in Schaumburg (Illnois) and Fort St. John (British Columbia).
