Apple trademarks "Mactel"

As CNET News reports, Apple has filed a trademark for "Mactel" at the US Patents and Trademarks Office. The description of the patent is the following:

"IC 009. US 021 023 026 036 038. G & S: computers, computer hardware, computer peripherals, computer software, integrated circuits, circuit boards, microprocessors, semiconductors"

MacIntel is usually the term that is used by people to designate the new platform that will appear with the first Intel a based Macintosh computers. It looks like Apple prefers Mactel to designate the new platform but it remains unsure if this trademark will be indeed used by Apple in the future.
