Briefly: Apple invloved in DRM lawsuit, forthcoming Apple products, last Security Update breaks 64 bit

Here's a catch up with recent news we didn't report:

As reports AppleInsider, Apple is named among other players of the online music industry, including Sony, in a new lawsuit related to DRM technology. An individual, Ho Keung Tse, is claiming to have been granted a patent protecting some characteristics of the DRM technology used by online music stores like iTunes.

MacObserver points out Caris & Co's expectations on Apple's forthcoming product announcements. The bank believes Apple will release several before the end of the year: dual-core PowerMacs, new Powerbooks that could reach 2Ghz, and will possible feature HD displays and video enabled iTunes and iPods. Most of the products should be released by September, possibly at AppleExpo's opening keynote.

According to Tuaw.com, Apple's latest Security Update breaks support of 64 bit applications. Many application that require 64 bit, such as Wolfram Research's Mathematica won't even run. There is no possibility to undo this update so we can expect another update from Apple solving the problem.
