As reports EETimes, Apple is buying 40% of Samsung's flash memory supply for the 2nd half of this year.
According to the report, Samsung will sell 4GB flash memory chips to Apple with very agressive pricing, competing with other suppliers such as Seagate which provides Apple Apple with 1" inch hard drive for the iPod mini.
So Apple could release a flash-based iPod mini as well as some new iPod shuffles by the end of the year. Earlier this year several reports have indicated that Apple would release more flash-based iPods in the future.
