Apple upgrades .Mac storage to 1GB, adds more features

Apple has updated its .Mac service last night, adding more storage and some features to the service.

The biggest improvement is the storage which is now 1GB (instead of 250MB), users may get 2GB with an addition of $49/mo.

Apple added .Mac Groups which allows users to share pictures, calendars, files and messages.

Backup has been updated to version 3.0, it brings more integration with the iLife suite for backup scheduling, more options for file restoration and the ability to backup more than one Mac.

European readers will also notice that the service is now also available in French and in German.

MacosXrumors was the first to reveal that Apple was planning to update its .Mac service with storage increase to 1GB and new features.
