Apple to update Mac mini

According to ThinkSecret, Apple is planning to update its Mac mini soon with a slight performance increase and improved storage and wireless features. MacRumors had already reported similar information earlier this week, however the site had not provided any details.

The new Mac minis will see a slight processor clock speed improvement to 1.33 and 1.5Ghz from 1.25 and 1.42Ghz while the processor will remain a PowerPC G4.

Although the new Mac minis' storage capacity should remain the same, ThinkSecret believes that 5400rpm hard disk will be used instead of 4200rpm one, representing a second improvement in terms of performance.

The optical drive should also be upgraded to 8X (with dual layer support) from 4X while the mid and high end models will also get support for Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.

Pricing should unsurprisingly remain the same according to ThinkSecret's report.
