iPod video on Amazon Electronics' top 5

Apple's new, video enabled iPod has entered the top 5 of most sold products in the Electronics section of Amazon.com late this week. A sign that the new device is reaching the mainstream users and not only current iPod owners as had claimed some analysts.

The black iPod video 30GB is currently in the 5th position of Amazon's Electronics best sellers, while the black iPod nano 4GB is positioned on the 3rd position. If we look further in the Electronics best sellers, we notice that the black iPod nano 2GB and the white 4GB one are listed 11th and 12th. The white iPod nano 2GB is 21st and the black video iPod is 25th.

In the MP3 players top sellers, the iPod totally dominates the top 5. With the black iPod nano 4GB and the black iPod nano 2GB respectively in the first and third positions, the black iPod video 30GB in the second position and the white iPod nano 4GB in the 4rth one.

Analysts, which also use Amazon's top sellers pages as tool for their checks, are expecting Apple to sell about 9 million iPods this quarter. Total sales since the introduction of the first iPod in 2002 are expected to reah 37 million by the end of the year.
