Apple's shares changed hands at $71.07!
Apple shares (AAPL) hit a new all time high of $71.07 today on positive analyst comments from several analysts. Though the stock closed at only $69.67 and even lost some cents during after hours trading.
From 9 to 11 million iPods expected to be sold this quarter
Piper Jeffrey's Gene Munster and Deutsche Bank's Chris Whitmore have both raised their target respectively to $79 and $78. Munster believes that Apple will not be able to meet demand for this quarter, as a result he expects the company to sell about 9 million iPods. Whitmore expects Apple to sell 11 million iPods.
The iPod tops Amazon's Electronics sales
Late last week, while Apple's shares were already rallying, Amazon announced that the second and third most sold electronic items were iPods. At the moment, the white iPod nano 2GB is first and the iPod shuffle 512MB is sixth in the Electronics top sellers. Amazon updates its top sellers chart hourly.
