Today Apple has introduced Boot Camp which allows users of Intel-based Mac to run Microsoft Windows natively in dual-boot mode.
Boot Camp is currently available in a beta version on this page, along with a tutorial. The Boot Camp page states:
More and more people are buying and loving Macs. To make this choice simply irresistible, Apple will include technology in the next major release of Mac OS X, Leopard, that lets you install and run the Windows XP operating system on your Mac. Called Boot Camp (for now), you can download a public beta today.
The kit consists not only of a bootloader but also of a CD image which includes all the required drivers for Windows XP to support the MacTel components.
This surprising move means that Apple now officially support the installation of Windows on a Mac. Until today, a non official software called WinXPOnMac allowed users to dual-boot Windows XP by modifying the installation disc.
