iBook's successor coming by May? (UPDATE)

ThinkSecret reports that Apple is planning to release the long rumoured successor of the iBook, based on the Intel architecture, during "the next 30-60 days".

The new entry-level laptop is said to be named "MacBook" as suggest the trademark Apple has registered last month.

The site claims the MacBook will come in a 13.3 inch version across the line with technical specifications similar to the current Intel Mac mini and wil Intel. Expect two models based on Core Solo and Core Duo chips.

ThinkSecret's report however suggests that the forthcoming MacBook 13 inch will replace both the iBook and the PowerBook 12 inch which is contradicting to one of our recent reports, claiming that Apple is also planning a 12 inch "ultra-thin" MacBook Pro.

UPDATE: AppleInsider is also reporting about the iBook's successor. The report claims there will be only a Core Duo model and that the MacBook will feature MagSafe, FrontRow, built-in iSight and a magnetic latch.
