Here's the news we didn't cover this week:
iTunes Video Store negotiations
Variety claims to have obtained information about ongoing negotiations between Apple and Hollywood majors. It's reported that Apple insists on a US$9.99 per movie model and that the majors are also negotiating with other players such as Amazon, MovieLink or BitTorrent.
50 Cent Mac?
According to Forbes, 50 Cent, the hip-hop singer is in talks with Apple in order to make a cheap line of Macs for inner-city residents.
ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m creating a foundation that will be around for a long time, because fame can come and go or get lost in the lifestyle and the splurging,ââ¬? 50 Cent told the publication. ââ¬ÅI never got into it for the music. I got into it for the business.ââ¬?
No idea on how much these Macs could cost though.
Shake 4.1
Apple has released Shake 4.1, which brings Intel compatibility. This new version is priced significantly lower, at $499 (from $2999). MacRumors had predicted this update and price drop but also believes that it is the last release of Shake because Apple is working on a very high end version of Final Cut which will include features from Shake.
