New MacBook retail configurations, strong sales

AppleInsider notices that Apple has added two MacBook configurations available only through its retail stores at the moment.

The new configurations consist of a white and a black MacBook running at 2Ghz and including 1GB of RAM, 80GB of storage and a SuperDrive, respectively priced $1449 and $1599.

Additionally, Digitimes, believes Apple's MacBook is selling very well and claims the company has ordered over 120 000 MacBooks for the month of June to AsusTek and that more than 2 million MacBooks could be manufactured and sold until the end of the year. The publication also cites other sources which claim that more than 300 000 MacBooks were produced during June, without giving these sources much credit though.
