Mac Pro EFI and SMC Firmware updates:
Apple has posted two firmware updated for its recently introduced Mac Pros. The first is the Mac Pro EFi update which addresses the following issues:
This EFI Firmware Update fixes several Boot Camp and start up issues on Mac Pro computers. If the firmware update doesn't run automatically, open it manually in the /Applications/Utilities folder.
The second is the SMC Firmware update and is described as above :
The SMC Firmware Update adjusts fan behavior in the Mac Pro. After this update has completed successfully, your SMC Version will be: 1.7f8. The updater application will be installed in the /Applications/Utilities folder and will launch automatically after restart.
Both of the updates are available through Apple's support web site.
The 24 inch iMac 24 can't Boot-Camp!
Users have noticed issues with the recently releases 24 inch iMac and Apple's boot-loader software Boot Camp which allows users to dual boot with Microsoft Windows. It appears that a firmware issue prevents this new model from booting on Windows. Recent update of BootCamp does not seem to solve the issue. Hopefully a forthcoming Firmware update for the iMac will fix that.
UPDATE: iPodObserver reveals further comments provided by Rob Iger. Among them, it is claimed that the iTV includes a hard drive.
