Briefly: the latest iPhone rumours

Here's another wave of iPhone related rumours that emerged last week:

Does T-Mobile's vision include Apple?

Last Friday, T-Mobile's executives gave a sneak peak of the company's plans and surprsisingly, much of the comments made by the company's CEO, Robert Dotson were about Apple and more specifically he looked very excited about Mac OS X Leopard.

"Leopard operating system does an incredibly good job of integrating video, and you're starting to see the integration of voice," he said. "It is a good precursor to how this marketplace can evolve, and how you can really start making money off products and services in a mobile environment."

In contrast, Robert Dotson did not show any excitement on the iPod itself or on selling music through mobile phones, but, overally, his comments hinted at a possible partnership with Apple or at least much interest in the computer maker.

Follow-up on Softbank iPhone rumours:

A few months ago, rumours that Apple would deal with Softbank in order to release a co-developed iPod phone before the end of the year started spreading over the web. The rumour was denied by Softbank a few days after its publication though.

We have the feeling that the true story is the one that became offical a few weeks ago through a quite unnoticed Softbank press release announcing that the mobile services provider will offer an iPod nano to its new subscribers.

Whether this was the true story or not, these news show that Apple is definitely commited to the mobile industry and is open to any partnership with mobile carriers.

Good news for Apple that mobile companies are interested in working with them.

They'll need some friends in the mobile industry if they want a successful launch of the iPhone.
