MacScoop theme, RSS syndication, membership

Since we've launched MacScoop, a few weeks ago, we have gathered a lot of feedback from readers and though there's probably still some room for improvements, we tried to respond to most of your requests.

We've addressed some minor usability issues (text size, comment and submit story forms, author and timestamp in story view), and we tried to make the theme's colors less annoying for your eyes. You can expect a few more improvements on the theme in the coming days.

A specific subdomain is now active for the RSS feed. You can now use rss.macscoop.com to access to this feed, though the former address (http://www.macscoop.com/rss.xml) still works and should not stop working.

Some readers have questioned us about the features membership provides. Being member of MacScoop will provide you access and the ability to post on the forthcoming MacCulture Forums. Story comments should also require authentication in the near future. We'll be adding a few more features for members as well. Membership is free and requires only an email address.

Notice also that some features such as archive access or search are only available to authenticated users when the site is experiencing high traffic. We're planning to improve our hosting with a second dedicated server soon, so this shouldn't happen very often once we've upgraded.

The launch of MacScoop has been a big success, with the number of daily page views exploding. So we thank you for your support and your feedback.
