Intel-Macs Firmware, X11, RAW Support updates

Apple has posted a few updates on Monday. Among them are five new firmware updates for all of the Intel-based Mac line-ups, another update to X11 and a RAW support update.

Firmware Updates:

- Mac mini EFI Firmware Update 1.1
- iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.1
- Mac Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.1
- MacBook EFI Firmware Update 1.0
- MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.2

These firmware updates bring fixes for Boot Camp, start up, and wake-from-sleep issues.

Apple X11 1.1.3, described as below:

This update addresses several issues in the X11 for Mac OS X package, enabling it to better handle:
- GLX stereo visuals
- offscreen rendering to GLX Pbuffers and Pixmaps
To tell X11 to take advantage of stereo visuals, enter:
$ defaults write com.apple.x11 enable_stereo -bool true
This update also addresses font issues present in X11 1.1.2, and is recommended for all users.

Apple Digital Camera RAW Support 1.0.1, described as below:

Mac OS X Tiger provides support for a variety of popular digital camera and image file formats. Applications such as Aperture, iPhoto and Preview utilize this support to work with digital camera RAW files. This update improves RAW file format compatibility for the following digital SLR cameras:

-Canon Digital Rebel XTi / 400D / Kiss X Digital
-Nikon D80
-Pentax *ist DS

Other issues addressed:

-Handling of large Canon RAW files (.CRW)
-DNG compatibility on Intel-based Macs
-Lines sometimes appearing in images exported from Aperture
