Apple acquires Proximity

Proximity has announced today on its web site that it has been acquired by Apple for an undisclosed price.

We are pleased to announce that all Proximity technology and intellectual property, including artbox workgroup and artbox enterprise, was recently acquired by Apple.

The company is providing video asset management software to video professionals through its Artbox Workgroup and Enterprise line-ups.

No details are provided on what Apple plans to do with this acquisition, but we can guess the company is planning to add Artbox to its line-up of audio-video solutions for professionals.
