New iTunes brings Apple TV support and full screen Cover Flow

Apple has just posted an update for iTunes bringing it to evrsion 7.1. This version adds full screen mode for the Cover Flow feature and brings support for the Apple TV. QuickTime has also been updated to version 7.1.5.

Here is the description provided by Apple:

Using iTunes 7.1, you can now enjoy your favorite iTunes movies, TV shows, music, and more from the comfort of your living room with Apple TV. iTunes 7.1 also supports a new full screen Cover Flow and improved sorting options to let you decide how iTunes should sort your favorite artists, albums, and songs.

The Apple TV was initially due to be released late last month but was delayed to mid March. This update to iTunes, which is specifically adapted to work with the Apple TV, is a sign that Apple is getting ready to ship the first orders of its new living-room appliance.

QuickTime also updated

Alongside iTunes, Apple has also updated QuickTime to version 7.1.5 which is mainly a bug fixing release:

QuickTime 7.1.5 delivers numerous bug fixes and addresses critical security issues. This update is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users.

The iTunes and QuickTime updates weight respectively 44.2MB and 27.5MB and are both available either through the Software Update utility or through Apple's support web site.
