UPDATE: Apple has now posted the TV ad on its web site.

A video posted on Google video shows what appears to be the first Apple TV ad airing on CNBC.

The ad shows a video clip playing on an iMac, then on an iPod and finally on a widescreen TV which is in the living-room.

A voice says "It's on your computer, it's on your iPod, now it's on your TV" the ad then fades out with an Apple TV seen from the top.

After some delay, Apple released the Apple TV late last month. The $299 living-room appliance is available through Apple's online and physical retail stores.

The company hasn't made any official announcements regarding an Apple TV ad campaign yet.

I'm not sure this ad will be

I'm not sure this ad will be enough to boost sales considering how limited this product is in terms of features.

I hope Apple's got some upcoming improvements for the Apple TV in the pipeline.

I think it's going to sell

I think it's going to sell anyway. Once again, the iTunes+Apple TV thing will work.

Yes it lacks codec support but it's not supposed to replace your DVD/DivX player.

It's easy to sue and it works with the iPod so there's no doubt many current iTunes+iPod users will buy it.

Apple TV's actual weakness

Submitted by phx on Mon, 2007-04-09 22:50.

Apple TV's actual weakness is the lack of full HD playback.

Many consumers will prefer buying a PS3 and Blu-Rays.

Maybe Sony has it right at once :).
