Briefly: iPhone issues, iTunes negotiations, Target to carry the Apple TV
Here's a brief catch-up on this week's uncovered news:
The iPhone delayed too?
A recent report on ArsTechnica's blog claims that after delaying the Apple TV and Leopard, Apple could see another launch delay this year with the iPhone.
The report says that several people from the Mac OS X Leopard team have been transfered to the iPhone project and that sources told the site that Apple could delay the product or ship it in very low quantities.
However, as claimed in our recent report, the issues aren't hardware or battery-related but concern the mobile phone's operating system.
Meanwhile, AT&T has reiterated that the iPhone will ship late June as planed. ArsTechnica notes that Apple had done the same a few weeks before Leopard is officially delayed though.
Apple negotiating for iTunes
According to a Reuters report, Apple is negociating with majors so as to extend its offer of songs without DRM on iTunes.
Though Apple is in strong position since the deal with EMI, majors are reportedly putting pressure to Apple for variable pricing and other distribution models.
Target to carry the Apple TV
Though the Apple TV doesn't seem to have achieved a strong start in terms of sales, the big retailer Target is said to have agreed to sell the Apple TV in its retail stores.
Meanwile, another patent dispute has been initiated by IP Innovation LLC, regarding tabbed interfaces on Leopard.
