Apple revamps iPhone section of its web site (UPDATE)

UPDATE: Apple's iPhone page also confirms the iPhone will be available online.

Apple has totally revamped the iPhone section of its web site today, one week before the official release of its much anticipated mobile phone, iPod and Ineternet navigator combo.

The new web site features a fresh new new design and a video "Guided tour of the iPhone" of about 25 minutes that can be either watched here or downloaded (175MB) here.

The new video reveals some unannounced features such as support of Word and Excel documents in preview mode, when the user receives them as attachement in an e-mail.

There has never been so much marketing for an Apple product release: TV/Internet ad campaign, mailings, special Apple store displays, several feature announcements days ahead of the release (on almost a daily basis!) and major highlights during events (WWDC).

AT&T is also preparing for the launch by hiring interim staff and installing displays in its stores. Potential customers are also informed by the company through mailings.
