In an effort to respond to issues encountered by some Intel Mac users with the recently released Mac OS X 10.4.10 Update, Apple re-issued a revision of this update versioned 1.1 and posted a fix for those who had already installed it.
The 10.4.10 Update is recommended for PowerPC and Intel-based Mac computers currently running Mac OS X 10.4.10. This update includes general operating system fixes, as well as specific fixes or compatibility updates for the following applications and technologies:
- RAW camera support
- Mounting and unmounting external USB devices
- Support for 3rd party software applications
- Security updates
This is actually the same update that was issued a few days ago but this one doesn't have any issue with audio. It is intended to those who haven't installed Mac OS X 10.4.10 yet.
This update is recommended for all users running 10.4.10 on Intel-based Macs and resolves an issue with audio.
For detailed information on this Update, please visit this website: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305840
As opposed to the first mentioned update, this one is intended to users who have installed the buggy 10.4.10 update.
The updates weight respectively 72.MB and 660KB and are available either through the Software Update utility or via Apple's support web site.
PowerPC users aren't concerned by the audio bug brought with the inital Mac OS X 10.4.10 update and are therefore not required to install the bug fixing update.

Interestingly, this Mac OS X
Interestingly, this Mac OS X 10.4.10 Update v1.1
did NOT fix the inability to mount my Crucial(.com)
CF card reader. It still hangs in the mounting process,
even though it's mountable in Mac OS X 10.4.9 and in
WIndows XP (Genius Bar at Apple store verified this).
For now, I'll have to use another reader, I guess.
