Apple announces the iTunes Wifi Store, Starbucks partnership

Apple announced today the iTunes Wifi Store, specially adapted for for its touch-screen handhelds.

The iTunes Wifi Store is a mobile version of the iTunes Store, it can be accessed right from the iPhone or the newly released iPod Touch.

Customers may purchase and listen songs instantly from both of the devices using a Wifi connection and can sync the purchased songs with the computer when back to home.

Apple also announced a partnership with Starbucks. When an iPod Touch or iPhone user is in a Starbucks Coffee Store, a new icon will appear on iTunes and will let users download the songs that are played in the store.

The connection and purchase from a Starbucks store doesn't even require any authentication and there is no connection fee charged. Starbucks has over 5800 wifi-enabled stores in the U.S. and growing.

There is no additional cost for a purchase on the iTunes Wifi Store.
