Starbucks to give away 50 million iTunes songs

In order to promote its recently announced partnership with Apple, Starbucks announced it plans to offer 50 million free songs to its customers.

The givaway will be effective from October 2 to November 7. Starbucks stores will give 1.5 million "Song of the day" cards daily. Allowing customers to download a song chosen by the store.

Among artists that will be made available in the giveaway: Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Joss Stone, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Annie Lennox and Band of Horses.

Starbuck's reloadable purchasing cards will also include two free songs.

Apple and Starbucks announced their partnership during a special event earlier this month.

Starbucks will offer free internet connection and the possibility to easily download the currently playing music in its stores.
