New MacBooks imminent?

Apple could release speed-bumped MacBooks as soon as this week and probably this Tuesday, a report on the Internet suggests.

According to MacRumors, the new MacBook will use Intel's most recent Santa Rosa architecture and GMA X3100 graphic chip combined with faster CPUs.

Though the site doesn't claim having solid sources, it notices that Apple's latest operating system iteration, Mac OS X Leopard already includes drivers for Intel's GMA X3100 chip, although no current Mac uses this chip.

Unfortunately, no further details like the specs of this new notebook line-up or pricing were revealed by the site's sources.

ThinkSecret had also previously claimed Apple will update its MacBook line-up on mid-November.
