Apple sold two million copies of Leopard over the first week-end

Apple announced on Monday that it has sold over two million copies of its new operating system, Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 over the first week-end of availability.

“Early indications are that Leopard will be a huge hit with customers, Leopard’s innovative features are getting great reviews and making more people than ever think about switching to the Mac.” said Steve Jobs in the press release issued by Apple at the occasion.

The two million copies figure includes sales since last Friday, through physical and online stores as well as distribution partners and Leopard copies bundled with Macs.

The news come with no surprise as the product topped many online retailers' sales charts such as Amazon which provides significant rebates for the launch of Leopard.
