Briefly: iPhone Tethering coming, No new hardware in 2008, Mark Papermaster hired and sued
Here's a brief catch'up with recent news in the Apple world.
iPhone Tethering coming
An AT&T rep has confirmed this week that Apple and AT&T are working on adding an option for tethering on the iPhone. The feature allows you to share the Internet connexion of your iPhone to your Mac.
An application called NetShare, bringing the same feature briefly appeared on the App Store earlier this year but was removed by Apple a few days later.
The tethering option will probably not be free, given that AT&T is already asking $30 more every month for those who want to use this feature on other smart phones.
No new hardware in 2008
Apple recently announced that it won't make hardware announcements until the end of the year, calming rumours of upcoming iMac updates.
The next major occasion for product releases being MacWorld SF 2009 which will take place in the second week of January 2009, we'll probably have to wait until this date for a new iMac model.
Mark Papermaster hired by Apple then sued by IBM
Apple recently announced it was hiring ex IBM executive Mark Papermaster as VP of its Devices Hardware Engineering division.
However, Papermaster was an expert on the Power architecture at IBM and the computer giant has filed a suit against its former employee. IBM claims Papermaster is violating his agreement of non-concurrence by working for Apple.
Meanwhile, Tony Fadell, which was head of Apple's iPod division announced he's quitting the compan for personal reasons.
