An Apple rep has confirmed [1] that the company will release a Firmware update for the 802.11n network adapter inside most recent line-ups of Intel Macs.

The latest iterations of the iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro line-ups are among the Intel Macs that will support this update. These Macs will benefit of faster bandwidth and range of the 802.11n standard.

This update will cost $1.99 and will consist of a downloadable software updater that will be made available through Apple's web site.

It has recently been rumoured [2] that Apple would announce such an updater and price it $4.99.
