Apple to release Final Cut Pro 5 at NAB
According to ThinkSecret, Apple is planning to release Final Cut Pro 5 during the NAB 2005 (National Association of Broadcasters conference which takes place in mid-april at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The new version of Apple's profesionnal video-editing software will mainly add support for CoreImage and CoreVideo and will, by the way, require Tiger to run.
It is also suggested that Apple releases new versions of its other video editing software such as Motion, DVD Studio Pro or Shake. All of them will bring CoreImage and CoreVideo support and might add distributed rendering capabilities as well.
A few days ago, we had hints suggesting Apple is planning to release a new Powerbook 17" with a display that will support 1920x1200 pixels resolution. The information was based on the documentation that is shipping with current 17" Powerbooks which mentions this resolution. As this resolution is required for HD editing, it is possible that Apple releases the new Powerbook supporting this resolution during NAB.
