Apple has officially confirmed through a note on its Italian web site that it plans to open a store in Rome.
The opening of the store, which is located in the Roma Est commercial center, is slated for March the 31st. Apple promises free T-shirts to the 1000 first visitors of the store as Italian speaking readers can notice on the note:
Apple Store Roma Est aprirà sabato 31 marzo alle 9:00. Prendete parte ai festeggiamenti per l’apertura di Apple Store, Roma Est. Partecipate all'inaugurazione e, se sarete fra i primi 1000 visitatori, ricevete gratuitamente una T-shirt Apple.
Apple has been rumoured to have plans on expanding its retail strategy in Europe for a while, it started with the United Kingdom and during last financial announcements conference, the company's executives clearly showed willingness to open stores in other European countries during the year.
