Here are some iPhone only news which broke during this week's beginning:
Convert your iPhone to a widescreen iPod
Tuaw explains [1] how one can buy an iPhone and convert it to what we would expect the 6G widescreen iPod to be.
First you buy one and activate it with a fake social number. This number allows you to use the pre-paid AT&T plan which has only a one-time fee of $45. Then removing your SIM card let's you use all the features of the iPhone except making calls.
iPhone.com domain
It appears [2] that Apple has purchased the iphone.com domain for an amount exceeding the million of dollars.
Michael Kovatch, the owner of this domain, probably deserves the money Apple has given to him though, as he didn't cyber-squat the domain. He registered it in 1995 to start an online mobile phone related business.
Analysts' iPhone sales numbers
Though Apple hasn't provided sales numbers for the iPhone's first week-end of availability. Analysts published estimates on Monday widely exceeding their own former expectations.
Trip Chowdhry is the most optimistic as he claims Apple has sold over 525 000 iPhones, Gene Munster has similar estimate of 500 000 iPhones sold while Shan Wu is more conservative with an estimation of 315 000 iPhones sold.
iPhone's battery replacement
Apple has set a standard service price for the iPhone's battery replacement, it will cost $85 to a customer whose battery fails.
