Apple posts development guidelines for the iPhone

Apple has posted a special page [1] for the iPhone on its site dedicated to developers ADC (Apple Developer Connection).

This page provides development guidelines for web applications running on the iPhone such as Layout and Javascript limits. A very interesting read if you plan to develop web applications for this already popular device.

Latest iPhone's unlocking hacks

DVDJon, the guy who broke the DVD's CSS protection as well as iTunes' DRM is now claiming to have successfully broken the iPhone's protections preventing it from working with other providers than AT&T. He posted a method [2] on how to do it on his web site.

Meanwhile, several hacks of the iPhone appear on the Internet, we can note someone has found that the ringtones are nothing more than AAC files placed in a specific directory of the iPhone's operating system.

More on the iPhone in Europe

Apple has yet to announce European deals for the release of the iPhone in Europe.

While we're waiting for the official news, Hackint0sh discovered some information inside the phone's operating system. References to European carriers can easily be found by performing a search on the file names inside the system.

An earlier report [3] cited T-Mobile as a possible carrier for Germany and said the release in that country is set for November the 1st.

Another report from the German publication TimesOnline claims to have sources saying Apple has signed with O2 for UK and sees Orange as the front-runner in France.

Regarding the carriers that Apple will go with for the iPhone, every possibility has already been predicted by at least one report on the Internet, so what to think? Maybe... just wait!
