Apple has released a Developer Preview version 1.1 of Zettabyte File System (ZFS) for Mac OS X Leopard.
The software package adds full read/write support for Sun's very advanced file system. It has been made available to registered members of the Apple Developer Connection (ADC).
A full featured ZFS was initially rumoured to be added to Leopard, since Sun's Jonathan Schwartz had said during a conference a few days before the WWDC 2007 that Apple was making of ZFS "the file system of Mac OS X".
