Here's a brief catch-up with news of this week that we didn't cover:

New seed of Leopard update

Apple is continuing to fix issues for the next revision update of Leopard. A new build, labelled 9C27 has been seeded to developers, it now a has over 130 bug fixes and should be available in a few days.

iPhone to arrive in three other European countries and Pro customers

According to reports on the Internet (via MacWorld.co.uk [1]) Apple is getting ready to launch the iPhone in Italy, Spain and Switzerland as soon as this month.

Meanwhile, we learned that Orange has started selling iPhones with its Pro-oriented Business Everywhere plans which offer more flexibility in terms of talk time.

Microsoft bids to take over Yahoo

Over $44 billion, that's what Microsoft is ready to pay [2] so as to acquire Yahoo. Not sure Yahoo has the choice to remain independent though as Microsoft's offer is three times bigger than Yahoo's market value. Yahoo saw its tock rising as much as 50% during Friday.

Such a move will let Microsoft counter-attack Google's dominance in Internet advertising.
