According to BetaNews [1], Seagate announced today, the release of the ST1 Series 8GB which is a 1 inch hard drive that targets the small devices market.

Apple is already using Seagate's hard disks for current iPod minis. At the moment the iPod mini is available in 4GB and 6GB versions so it would be a logical step for Apple to use Seagate's new 8GB hard drive in the near future.

Seagate released several other products recently, including the first 500GB hard drive.
