Chatham County Schools to get iBooks

According to NBC 17, Chatham County Schools have chosen Apple's iBooks for their teachers and students. The deal involves the delivery of 1000 to teachers for this year. Then, within the next several years, each of the 7400 students will have their laptop.

"Now, my kids in Bear Creek, N.C., can get exposed to the same types of things that kids are getting exposed to in Detroit, Mich., or New York City," Principal John Elderidge said to NBC 17.

In late July, Apple announced it would provide 30 000 iBooks to Florida Schools, but some days later, Cobb County School's board members announced that the 63 000 iBooks deal between Apple and them was cancelled.
