Apple Forums powered up for the surge?

Those of you out there who have visited the apple discussion forums lately have seen that the group responsible for support is failing miserably in their ability to run an online discussion forum in the face of a surge of anticipated customers. I found out that speaking out about this on their board and asking them to tell us whats up is not allowed.

My posts were deleted - my account suspended. Who would have thought fascism would be so prevalent in that region of the country by a company run by a hippie...not the apple I had in my mind as a new apple customer...read the email below to see why they censored my posts and read my posts as well and decide for yourself.

Apple removed your post on Apple Discussions, titled "Re: I think an "announcement" update is warranted at this point," because it contained the following:

* Speculation or Rumors
* Discussion of Apple Policies, Procedures or Decisions
* Off-topic or non-technical posts

We are including a copy of your post at the end of this email for your reference.

Our terms of use, which include helpful information about using Apple Discussions, is located here: http://discussions.apple.com/help.jspa We encourage you to continue using the Apple Discussions while abiding by our terms of use.

Kind regards,

Apple Discussions staff

A copy of your message for reference:

Properly planning for the "surge" of users and putting the boards on the right architecture would have prevented this from happening. This Apple board is by far not the most stressed place on the internet nor does this spike rank as one of the biggest traffic spikes for a company. Therefore, the blame is entirely on Apple and obviously the same people that design and run the server farm for itunes did not get asked how to build out proper server architecture. With the right load balancing architecture, virtual servers with redundant real-time copies of the forums and their databases is entirely possible. This is certainly something apple could afford. If they did it all in house they are truly morons...this nut has been cracked many times already.

A brody - Before I even saw how many posts you have made on this wonderful board I realized that you are the poster child of an apple fanboy. What a pitiful defense of indefensible behavior and actions by apple. Seriously, they have lots of cash, if they really cared about their base and supporting new and existing customers, this would have been fixed already.

A company like apple that prides itself on its engaged customer base should know that not only should you not let this happen, but that you should be more forthcoming with information as to what happened, what you are doing, and when it will be fixed. People expect that from a company they feel attached and engaged to. Two or Three lines in a post is just plain lame and smacks of arrogance...we are the company, you are the user, we will tell you what we want when we want and you will like it...not what I thought apple was, for sure...

Signed: New apple customer - not a fan so far.
