Apple has filed the trademark "iPodCast" along with its logo [1] at the U.S. Patents and Trademarks office on September the 4th.

The description of the trademark is the following covers a big amount of topics, including computer software, computer peripherials and telecommunication services.

We may speculate that Apple is maybe working on a piece of software that will help users to record and prepare podcasts before publishing them. That would make podcasting as simple as blogging, which could result to a boom in the podcasting contributions.
