This week, Apple acknowledged issues on two of its products. The first is the new iPod nano's screen and the second is the PowerMac G5 Single-1.8Ghz when running on Tiger.

iPod nano

Last week, a user of the iPod nano launched a web site [1] where he claimed that he broke his iPod nano just by leaving it into his pocket (without sitting on it). Other users wrote to the author of the site with complains about a similar problem with the iPod nano's screen and for scratches issues. The author of the site published the reader's comments as well.

Earlier this week, Apple acknowledged the iPod nano's screen issues, claiming only 0.1% of the production is affected and that the company will replace the broken units. It also suggested users complaining about scratches to use an iPod nano case.

PowerMac G5 Single 1.8Ghz

Apple has also quietly acknowledged another problem through this note [2]. This one has to do with the Power Mac G5 single 1.8Ghz when running on Tiger. Users were complaining about random freezes when using graphics intensive applications such as games, full screen video playback or slideshows.

The company provides some advices to avoid these freezes until a correction patch arrives. Apple does not provide further details about the problem itself or the patch and does not even give any release date for this patch.
