Sources have been very firm on their claims that the new Merom Macbook Pro will be announced on the 25th of September at the special event Apple is preparing for the opening Photokina in Germany.

A few hours ago, MacWorld reported [1] that it has received an invite from Apple for this special event. The invite which only states "Start photokina a little early this year", features the same image as on Apple's professional photo software, Aperture, released a year ago.

A major update of Aperture has also been rumoured to be on the way in recent reports [2]. Although we could not obtain confirmation on these reports, we believe the invite clearly hints at this.

Earlier this year, MacOSXRumors has also obtained [3] reports from reliable sources that Apple was working on an Intel-based and ultra-thin 12 inch form factor replacement of the now defunct entry-level Powerbook G4. This piece of information is however not confirmed in our recent report.
