MacOSXRumors started in 2002 with the goal to bring you reports on forthcoming releases of Mac OS X. The site quickly opened its scope to other Apple news and rumours.

In an effort to better reflect the content of this site and to avoid confusion with other rumour sites' branding, we decided to rename it MacScoop.

The former domain name, MacosXrumors.com, is now redirecting to the new site, but it will be used again in the near future so as to present a more Mac OS X - centric view of the site (highlighting software and mac os x related reports).

This new name will prevent visitors from being confused regarding the topics related on this site and our relations with the similarly named MacOSRumors which has been online for nearly a decade and is doing some guessing on Apple's forthcoming products.

A few of you might have noticed it, but behind these little æsthetic improvements to the site's layout, there is a totally revamped site with a new very powerful content management system [1]. So you can expect a lot of features to come shortly on this site. Some of them are already here! It's the so much requested comments system that we've been beta-testing since April, a very improved search engine and improved archives navigation.

One more thing! Both MacScoop and MacosXrumors will be part of what will be named the MacCulture Network. A few more sites will emerge from this network during the coming months! Until then, enjoy this new site and don't hesitate to send us feedback, we've never been so open for improvement! If you think you can help us to improve the site, you're also welcome.
