Tipsters informed MacScoop that Apple is planning to use HDMI technology in its next generation of Cinema Displays, while another recent vague report claims that a larger than 30 inch model could also be on the way.

Back in August, MacScoop had first received a report claiming that Apple would replace its 23 inch Cinema Display with a 24 inch sized model and that the HDMI technology would be used in all of its display's line-up.

This report had been published as "unconfirmed information" in our WWDC 2006 rumor roundup [1] and has since been partially confirmed by some hints Apple has provided with the announcement of the iMac 24 inch and the "iTV" which is said to include an HDMI port.

Recent reports informed MacScoop that the next generation of Apple's displays line-up would include both HDMI connector and the HDCP technology, allowing copy-protected HD content to be displayed.

As for built-in iSight and Front Row, while the inclusion of an iSight was mentioned in one of our reports, there was no confirmation on the built-in Front Row Receiver/Remote feature.

Another vague report that remains to be verified is claiming that Apple could even introduce a larger model in 2007. No more details were provided though. Apple's largest display in the current line-up is the 30 inch model.

We have no information about pricing but we don't expect the company to increase its pricing because of these new features. However, we expect that Apple will release this new display line-up in January 2007 during MacWorld SF along with the "iTV" living room appliance announced in September.

Several other reports previously claimed that Apple would add iSight and Front Row to its displays line-up while older reports mainly corroborated by analysts have been speculating on larger Cinema Displays for a while. Additionally, a recent MacRumors report claims [2] that Apple will release new display line-up with built-in iSights during MacWorld SF.

Apple hasn't made any major update on its Cinema Displays line-up since June 2004. Only some quiet updates on the specs where noticed.
